16 The Phidget
The Phidget is an input/output (I/O) device. It has ports that can read an analog signal (a signal that can vary anywhere between \(0\) volts and \(5\) volts), read a digital signal (a signal that is either low (less than \(900\) millivolts) or high (greater than \(4.2\) volts)), and output a digital signal (either \(0\) volts or \(5\) volts).
Plug the USB cable into the Phidget taking care to insert the plug in the correct orientation and plug the other end of the USB cable into the computer. The computer is mounted to the back side of the monitor.
