17 A simple circuit 3

Find two jumper wires having alligator clips.

Clip the end of one jumper wire to the black plug marked GND on the Phidget. Clip the end of the second jumper wire to the red plug marked +5V on the Phidget.

Take the jumper wire plugged into the GND plug of the Phidget and clip the free end to the jumper wire plugged into the ground rail of the breadboard. Take the jumper wire plugged into the +5V plug of the Phidget and clip the free end of the jumper wire to the positive lead of the LED:

The LED should light up.
