  • Nov 5. As of tomorrow, Nov 6, there will be no classes held until further notice. For those who think its a good idea to prepare for the times when the strike is over (clever idea, in my opinion), start working through the Introduction to Objective Caml: read the material and attempt as many exercises as possible. I was planning to cover at least up to and including Chapter 6.

  • Sep 15. As you may already know, York University is an active participant in ACM Programming Contests. These are similar to TopCoder contents, but tougher. In order to prepare for the contests York University is organizing York Programming Contents -- you are invited to participate. Try this ! Its free and it doesn't hurt ;-), and even if you don't win, the amount of skill you gain during the preparation is enormous. All the information is at https://wiki.cse.yorku.ca/project/ACM/.

  • Sep 9. I marked the quiz, you can see your marks by running 'courseInfo 3401' from Prism. Students that are not yet enrolled -- email me to get your mark. Solutions to the quiz are available here. Those who got 3/6 or less -- you are not ready for the next class.
