6 Important note regarding the pan-tilt platform
In this lab you will use a pan-tilt platform controlled by servo motors. When unpowered, the pan-tilt platform should move freely (i.e., you should be able to easily turn the two motors on the platform).
After connecting the platform to the computer and connecting to it in MATLAB, the motors may not turn freely at all times. DO NOT FORCE THE MOTORS TO TURN if you feel any resistance. To unpower the motors, type
stopServos
in the Command Window.
After the motors are unpowered, you should be able to freely turn them. If you still can’t turn them, then unplug the power adapter connected to the servo motor controller.
