Quizzes

Quizzes will take place in the lab and will last 30 minutes. Each quiz will feature one question, taken verbatim from the problem set.

For quiz 1: Problem set is questions 2-6 in Chapter 3 from the online course notes.

For quiz 2: Problem set is from the textbook: 11.4(a) (for 11.3(ii)(iii)(iv)), 13.1, 13.2, 14.5, 14.7.

For quiz 3: problem set is questions 1-5 from the problem set at the end of the random process notes.

Midterm Exams

Midterms will take place in the lecture period and will last 80 minutes. Midterms are closed book, however, you are allowed one 8.5 x 11 inch sheet (both sides) of handwritten notes, and a calculator.

Sample problems for Midterm 1 (from the textbook): 4.9, 4.10, 4.11(i), 4.15, 5.1, 5.2, 5.13, 9.1, 9.5, 9.6, 9.16, 9.19, 9.20.

Sample problems for Midterm 2 (from the textbook): 11.12, 11.13, 13.13, 13.17, 14.1 (don't worry about linear phase), 14.6, 14.11, 14.16, 14.17, 15.6 (for N=3), 15.7 (for N=3).

Disclaimer: These problems will help you practice; problems on the midterm may not necessarily resemble these problems.
