EECS2030 W2021 Lab 1

Due: Thursday Jan 21, 2021 - before 11:59PM

Welcome! This lab introduces you to both a remote version of the Prism computer lab environment, and the Eclipse IDE toolset. This lab is worth 1% of your final grade.

The purpose of this lab is to introduce you to the remotelab computing environment available for use in this course. While this tool is not manadatory, it is important to get familiar with the setup you would normally find if attending the physical PRISM labs in the Lassonde Building (Room 1006). There are two items to work through here as a refresher of the CentOS linux environment, and associated linux terminal (command line) tools.

If you are comfortable with linux command line and have experimented with CentOS through remote lab already, you may move directly to the section "What is eclipse?", which will review the use of the Eclipse IDE, and walk you through creating and submitting a simple Hello World project via the command line or web submit tool. The final section "Java Review" has the tasks you need to work through, complete and submit for credit on this lab.
