LAB02 Exercises

Welcome to your second lab session!!!

These lab exercises must be completed by all students and students should complete all of the assigned tasks. (The tasks are the same for both section LAB01 and LAB02.)

These lab exercises are essential preparation for the labtest next week!

The assumption is made here that you have already completed the Week #1 lab exercises.

You should do your best to complete these tasks within the allotted time of the lab session. If you do not finish, then it is your responsibility to complete these tasks on your own, prior to the lab session next week. If you run into difficulties, please contact the TAs!!

Tasks:

  1. Visit the following URL: http://www.eecs.yorku.ca/course_archive/2013-14/F/1710/page/files/
  2. Download the archive project file called "1710A_F13_Lab02Exercises.zip" and complete Questions 1-12 (instructions can be found within). For further information, please see the "Intro to Eclipse” Exercises.

A Note About The Labwork For This Course:

For these exercises, the assumption has been made that you are working at one of the workstations in the Digital Media Lab (aka the "MISS" lab, LAS1002).

Students may wish to set up their own personal environment (e.g., on a laptop or home machine). This is all very possible and will likely be more convenient for this course.
If you do so, then repeat the tasks for your own environment (e.g., setting up Eclipse, importing and running the project).

Resources for setting up your personal environment will be provided on the course webpage.

The IDE for the course is Eclipse. If you wish to use another IDE on your own time, you are welcome to do so. However, resource limitations prevent us from providing support or help for IDEs other than Eclipse.
During the lab exercises and labtests, Eclipse is the only supported IDE.
