Career Centre Fall Fair:

The Career Centre will be hosting its annual Fall Career Fair next week on Sept. 18 from 10am-3pm in the Victor Phillip Dahdaleh building.  There will be over 80 employers attending, many of whom are looking to connect with your students.  For the first time, we’ve organized our career fair website to  highlight participating employers by industry, so that students can search employers of interest prior to the fair and conduct research on the opportunities available.  We’ve also created a “Career Fair Tips” page to support students in preparing for and succeeding at the fair – there is a short video tutorial as well as a slideshow outlining what is a career fair and why students should attend.

These are some of the Organizations hoping to see your students:

Cyber Security Challenge:
There’s a Cyber Security challenge happening in October in Toronto, where teams of 4 students from different educational institutions will be pitching their ideas to solve one of the biggest issues in IT Security - People are the weakest link in cybersecurity. The top 3 teams will be awarded prizes of $3000, $1500 and $1000.

There will also be a career fair at the event, where students will have the chance to apply for jobs and understand what requirements for security positions of different levels are. This is a great way to network and learn more about the Security Industry.

The deadline for registration is Sept 16, 2018.
