Students should complete this lab in their own time using their own computer.
Students must log into Moodle and show a teaching assistant the completed WHMIS 1 training module during LAB B. Note that a grade of 100% on the training test is required to complete the training module.

All Engineering students at York University are required to take and pass the WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information
System) 1 online training course.

A perfect score on the quiz module is required, but students may take the quiz an unlimited number of times.
In-lecture polling is done using iClicker. iClicker software allows students to respond to questions during lectures using a smartphone, laptop, or tablet. The programming language and environment used in this course is MATLAB. York students can download and install MATLAB for free, or use MATLAB in a web browser without installing any software. For access to MATLAB, visit the following link:
You will need to create a MathWorks account before accessing the MATLAB software. When creating your MathWorks account, make sure to use your Passport York email address.
Note that you will require approximately 19 GB of disk space to install MATLAB and all of the toolboxes available under the York license. Make sure that you have a fast Internet connection before starting the installation, and be very careful if your Internet service has a download cap. For this course, you should consider installing the following products (at the Product Selection stage of the installation process):
