Materials
- Lectures notes from the beginning up to and including the lecture on February 13.
- Corresponding sections in the textbook and reference book.
- Assignments 1 and 2.
- Sample questions
The midterm test will consist of two parts: multiple-choice questions and short-answer questions.
Midterm Test Rules
- This is a closed-book test. No books or notes are allowed. You will be given blank paper for scrap work.
- Non-programmable calculators are allowed.
- Bring a photo ID, pens, and pencils.
- Pencils are required for answers to multiple-choice questions on SCANTRON sheets. Make sure that the darkness is at least HB; B or 2B is preferred.
- Pens or pencils may be used for short-answer questions. Pencils must have a darkness of HB or darker.
- No questions are allowed during the test. Please do not ask the invigilators to interpret questions for you; your ability to interpret the questions is one of the things we are testing.
- You may leave the classroom if you hand in your test booklets and the scantron sheet 10 minutes or more before the test ends. Otherwise, you must stay until the end to avoid disturbing your classmates while they are finishing their work.
Academic Honesty
"Academic honesty requires that persons do not falsely claim credit for the ideas, writing or other intellectual property of others, either by presenting such works as their own or through impersonation. Similarly, academic honesty requires that persons do not cheat (attempt to gain an improper advantage in an academic evaluation), nor attempt or actually alter, suppress, falsify or fabricate any research data or results, official academic record, application or document. Finally, academic honesty requires that persons do not aid or abet others to commit an offence of academic dishonesty, including intentional acts to disrupt academic activities."
