Midterm Test

Date: Thursday, November 3
Time: 11:30-12:45 (75 minutes)
Location: CB-115 (lecture room)
Materials
- Lectures notes from the beginning up to and including the lecture on November 1.
- Corresponding sections in the textbook.
- Assignment 1.
- Recommended homework problems and exercises from the textbook.
Recommended exercises: 5.20, 5.21, 5.24, 6.1, 6.2, 6.11(a), 6.13, 6.15, 7.3 (U=1/(1+2a)), 7.10 in the textbook.
Test Rules
- This is a closed-book test. No books, notes or calculators are allowed. You will be given blank paper for scrap work.
- Bring a photo ID, pens, and pencils. You may use pencils, but please make sure that the darkness is at least HB; 2B is preferred.
- No questions are allowed during the test. Please do not ask the invigilators to interpret the questions for you; your ability to interpret the questions is one of the things we are testing.
- You may leave the classroom if you hand in your test booklet 10 minutes or more before the test ends. Otherwise, you have to stay until the end to avoid disturbing your classmates while they are trying to finish their tests.
- In this course, all assignments, tests and exam are individual work. Plagiarism and cheating are not
tolerable. Refer to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering Academic Honesty Guidelines page for more information.
