Adam Cole & Dan Eng (November 26th)

Adam Cole has fifteen years of experience managing successful healthcare IT projects. Cole's projects have won international awards including first place in the annual Kinetic Process Innovation Awards and receiving a Computer World Smithsonian Honors Laureate via a nomination by Michael Cappellas, President of Compaq Computers.

Cole's solutions have been commercially distributed to hospitals across Canada and featured in the mainstream media including the Toronto Star and primetime Global TV. Recently Cole has been CIO of Phase 4 Health, a national life sciences company and Director of Specialty Technology Solutions at McKesson, a Fortune 15 company and the world's leading healthcare supply management and information technology company.

At McKesson Adam's department twice won project of the year (in innovation and financial contribution) and scored 100% on the Customer Satisfaction Survey, a first in McKesson history. Previously through his own consulting company of 15+ professionals Mr. Cole has managed projects for Canada's largest healthcare organizations. Cole regularly writes for and is called on by the media. Mr. Cole is a graduate in Math from the University of Waterloo and is currently completing an EMBA from the University of Fredericton. Cole has been actively involved in CIPS for several years. Toronto is home to Adam where he lives

with his two wonderful daughters and wife.

Dan is returning as a member of CIPS having been active some 5 years ago. He is a past president of the Toronto Section having also managed the Media Relations function and the CIPS across Canada publication. Members may remember him in his role as Security SIG co-chair as well for his activities in the Organizing Committee for the International Federation Information Processing Section 11 Security Conference. Dan is working with the Toronto Board of Trade - Information Communication Technology (ICT) Toronto which has the

mission of making the GTA, the 5th largest technology cluster in the world. He is currently very active in helping New Canadians in finding IT jobs.

Dan has almost thirty years of experience in all aspects of computing. As well as being familiar with operating an IBM 519 Mark Sense Reader, manning the computer console for an IBM 370 mainframe, he has held a number of project management positions. Needless to say, Dan enjoys rolling up his sleeves and debugging program code. Perhaps Dan enjoyed his time as a part-time Continuing Education Instructor the most because it gave him a chance to see what was possible with highly motivated students.

Dan has also received his ISP designation. Dan is currently engaged in a number of technology startups.

Education

Graduating from the University of Toronto in Computer Science, he went on to complete his MBA part-time at the same school. He continues to be a strong supporter and believer in the Rotman Business School concept of lifelong learning and integrative thinking.
