Abstract
Inferring the three dimensional layout of a scene and the shape of objects from a singleimage is effortless to humans. This has a been a long-lasting problem in computer vision. Reconstructing a three dimensional model from a single view has diverse applications, for example, creating novel views from a photograph. This problem is naturally ill-posed and various assumptions have been made to limit the set of solutions. This paper reviews single view reconstruction methods focusing on the problem of shape-from-contour.
