General Information
This course introduces concepts and technologies for Computer Supported
Collaborative Work (CSCW), i.e. technologies that help people work together.
Particular emphasis will be placed on Shared Display Groupware (SDG).
Students will learn about CSCW, software systems and technologies for CSCW,
hardware technologies for SDG (e.g. large displays & tables, AR, VR,
mobile devices), user interfaces for CSCW, and evaluation methodologies.
The course project will require designing and implementing a user interface

Evaluation
Evaluation will be based on the following:
- 25% - Paper discussions: Students will be asked to read recent papers
and will discuss/review them in class.
- 45% - Course project, carried out over the entire term. The project
is performed alone or in groups of 2. Topics will be chosen in
consultation with the instructor. Students may either implement and evaluate
a SDG system (20% implementation, 25% evaluation) or perform a CSCW study
by observing groups at work and analyzing the audio/video recordings in
depth (20% study, 25% analysis). Students should decide about their
project by March 1.
- 30% - Course project report, in ACM CHI paper style. Due date: end of April.
