Grading Scheme:

Course Description:

The course provides an overview of the latest developments and trends in wireless mobile communications, and addresses the impact of wireless transmission and user mobility on the design and management of wireless mobile systems. For a detailed list of covered topics see
Course Schedule / Notes.

Prerequisite:

General Prerequisite, CSE 3213. (Some knowledge of the material covered in CSE 4213 is desired.)

Missed Midterm and Quizzes:

.
Makeups of missed midterm exam and quizzes are only possible in extremely exceptional situations (such as verifiable medical emergencies) or by arrangement well prior to the exam, provided there is an extremely compelling reason.

Academic Honesty:

"The Department takes the matter of academic honesty very seriously. Academic honesty is essentially giving credit where credit is due. And not misrepresenting what you have done and what work you have produced. When a piece of work is submitted by a student it is expected that all unquoted and uncited ideas and text are original to the student. Uncited and unquoted text, diagrams, etc., which are not original to the student, and which the student presents as their own work is considered academically dishonest."
For more see:  Department of Computer Science Academic Honesty Guidelines

LAB Instructions:
Lab 1 and Lab 2.

Research Project:

Each graduate student is required to complete a survey paper on a research topic from the following list:  5431ResearchTopics.
Timeline:
1)   Select a topic and report it to the instructor by January 10.
2)   Submit a 1-page proposal, with a comprehensive list of references, by February 18.
3)   Submit the final version of the paper (up to 15 pages) by March 31.
4)   Present the final survey paper in class
on April 2.

The research project is aimed to be an opportunity to learn more in an area (that is either related to your research or that simply interests you), not a hassle. So, make sure you get most out of this project.
